NARIS is an acronym for Korean Natural History Research Information System, a system that provides services by linking the distributed Korean natural history-related information into an integrated database.
It is a standardized natural history DB system built in accordance with the standards of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) and the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF.) It connects natural history information held in national and local natural history museums, universities, and science centers. In addition, the National Science Museum serves as a GBIF Data Node, enabling the system to be interconnected through a global network.
